Raised spot UV business cards
Raised spot UV business cards pair a velvet-laminated 16pt card with a clear, glossy layer that rises off the surface wherever you choose, such as a logo, a name or a pattern. Raised spot UV business cards, also called 3D spot UV, embossed UV or spot gloss business cards, suit designers, salons, studios and brands with a strong mark. Full color on both sides costs the same as the front alone.
From $101 for 100 cards
16pt · velvet + raised glossThe gloss stands about 50 microns above the card, so a logo or pattern is both shinier and higher than the soft velvet around it.
A separate layer in your file marks the gloss areas. Everything outside that layer stays matte and quiet.
Velvet lamination gives the card a smooth, almost fabric-like feel, which makes the glossy parts look even brighter by comparison.
Best for: Brands with a bold logo or pattern: designers, salons, barbers, studios and agencies.

The details make the difference

Not quite. Flat spot UV is a thin gloss that you see but barely feel. Raised spot UV, often called 3D or embossed UV, is a thicker layer you can feel with a fingertip. This page is the raised version, on a velvet laminated card.
Send your full color design plus a second file or layer, the same size, with the gloss areas in solid black. Black means gloss, white means none. If that sounds technical, tell us in your order notes which parts should shine and we will confirm with you before anything prints.
It is cured hard onto the laminate, so it holds up to normal handling, wallets and card holders. Like any raised finish, it can scuff if loose cards rub against each other for a long time, so keep them in a box or case.
They start at $101, and printing on the back is included at no extra charge. This finish is sold in short runs, so a first order does not tie up a big budget.
They ship in Ships in about 6 business days after proof approval after you approve your proof. The gloss goes on in its own pass after printing, so this finish cannot be rushed.
