Are die cut and shaped business cards the same?
Die cut means the card is cut to an outline instead of a plain rectangle, so yes, shaped cards are die cut cards. We offer four set shapes: circle, square, oval and leaf. A card cut to the exact outline of your logo is not available on this page.
Will a square or circle card fit in a wallet?
Yes. At 2 x 2 in they are smaller than a standard card, so they slide into wallets and card slots easily, though they sit lower in a business card holder. Oval and leaf cards are the full 3.5 x 2 in.
How do I set up my file for a shaped card?
Design on the full square or rectangle at card size, keep text and logos well inside the shape, and let your background run past the edge. We check every file by hand and will point out anything too close to the cut on your proof.
Do curved edges hold up as well as square corners?
Better, in one way: there are no corners to bend or fray in a pocket. Circles are printed on 14pt stock, and the other shapes on 16pt, so all of them feel firm in the hand.
