Are pearl and metallic business cards the same?
People use both names, but they are not always the same product. Pearl cards get their shimmer from the paper itself, so the whole card glows. Metallic ink or foil cards add shine only to certain areas. If you want shine on one detail instead, see raised foil.
Will a dark background still shimmer?
Much less. Heavy ink covers the pearl surface, so a card printed edge to edge in a dark color looks close to a regular card. Keep light or unprinted areas in your design if the shimmer is why you picked this paper.
Can I write on pearl business cards?
Yes, though the metallic surface is slicker than plain paper. A fine permanent pen writes cleanly. Give the ink a moment to dry before you stack the cards.
Can pearl cards be printed on the back?
Yes. Full color on the back costs the same as the front alone. Keep the back light or unprinted if you want the shimmer to show on that side too.
