What are foil stamped business cards?
Cards with real metallic foil stamped flat onto the parts of your design you choose, such as a logo, a name or a border, while the rest of the card prints in full color.
How is flat foil different from raised foil?
Flat foil sits level with the card. Raised foil is laid over a raised layer, so you can feel it with a fingertip. Flat foil comes in seven colors on three stocks; our raised foil comes in gold or silver on a 16pt velvet card.
Which foil colors can I choose?
Gold, silver, copper, rose gold, black, blue or red on 14pt uncoated and 16pt silk, and gold, silver or rose gold on 32pt. Every color costs the same, and each order uses one foil color.
How do I mark the foil in my file?
Upload your design and, if you have one, a mask: a file the same size with the foil areas in solid 100% black and everything else white. No mask? Our designer makes one for free and shows it in your proof.
Any tips for designing with foil?
Use foil for bold shapes like a logo, a name or a border, and skip very small text and thin lines. Keep foil to less than half of the card, put a solid color behind it rather than other artwork, and leave a little room around it, since the foil can land up to 1/16 in from its spot.
Can I print on the back?
Yes. The back prints in full color at the same price as a blank back. The foil goes on the front.
