Silk business cards
Silk business cards are 16pt cards wrapped in a silk laminate that feels smooth and silky, with deep color and almost no shine. Silk business cards, also called soft-touch or silk laminated business cards, suit consultants, realtors, salons and anyone whose card should feel premium without shouting. Full color on the back costs nothing extra.
From $83 for 100 cards
16pt · silk laminatedThe laminate replaces the feel of paper with a smooth, low-sheen surface. Most people run a thumb across it before they read a word.
Silk lamination cuts glare without washing color out, so black, navy and other dark backgrounds look even and solid under office light.
The laminate seals both faces of the card, so edges and corners stand up to pockets, card holders and a week in a bag better than bare paper.
Best for: Consultants, real estate agents, beauty and wellness pros, and anyone who wants a premium card at a sensible price.

The details make the difference

Mostly, yes. Print shops use all three names for a 16pt card with a smooth laminate that feels soft instead of glossy. Some sell velvet or suede as a separate laminate with a slightly fuzzier feel, but in a photo and in a hand they are very close. Ours is a silk laminate.
A ballpoint pen tends to skip on the laminate. A fine-tip permanent marker works well if you need to add an appointment time or a note by hand. If you write on your cards often, linen or classic matte is the easier choice.
Silk cards start at $83, with full color on one or both sides included. The price per card drops as the quantity goes up, and the configurator shows your exact total before you add anything to the cart.
Less than gloss cards do. The laminate has almost no shine, so fingerprints are hard to see, and it resists the scuffing a UV gloss card picks up in a pocket. On very dark designs, keys can still leave a faint mark, as on any laminated card.
Silk cards ship in Ships in about 6 business days after proof approval after you approve your proof. A person on our team checks your file first and emails the proof, so nothing prints until you say it is right.
